Great Steak Celebration
The first pound of Certified Angus Beef ® brand product was sold 30 years ago, on Oct. 18, 1978. Since then, the original brand of premium, fresh beef has enjoyed much success. What better way to celebrate than by hosting a celebration at New York City's famed James Beard House?
We just returned from our gala "Great Steak Celebration," and I'm so excited to share what a fantastic evening it was. After months of planning, a team of the world's best chefs and I created a menu that featured the brand in every course, from hors d'oeuvres to dessert (yes, really!).
It was a great honor to share the kitchen with my fellow chefs. I've always respected their creativity, culinary talents and reputation, but now I consider them all good friends as well. What an experience to remember!
I'm also proud to have been a part of a dinner that showcased the quality of the brand so well. We dedicated the evening to the cattlemen and women across this country who produce the best Angus beef. I'm glad to say I think we did them proud, and it was an honor to have a few of them in attendance that night.
A hearty and heartfelt thank-you to all who helped make our 30th anniversary dinner so memorable. It truly was a "great steak celebration!"
